Services & Sermons
We’re a family of believers who love God and each other, which characterises our meetings on Sundays. There is a mix of activities focused on Jesus. We spend time worshipping God using songs, we listen to Biblical teaching, we pray together and we share experiences of how God is making a difference in our lives.
We are fortunate to have some talented musicians who lead worship every week and a number of members who share the preaching, each with a different style. On occasions we have guest speakers from the churches we are linked with.
We seek to make our meetings accessible to everyone. We have recently started to provide an opportunity to reflect on the sermon by including some group discussion at the end.
During the sermon there are groups for our children and young people to attend in adjoining rooms. There is also a creche for under threes.
Afterwards we enjoy refreshments together. It is a family time, led by the Holy Spirit.
Come along and see for yourself. You’re welcome to join in, or just observe, we’ll be thrilled to see you. Please note that we don’t provide any signing for deaf people.
Praise And Worship
Reflecting Heaven On Earth
One of the primary functions of the Sunday meetings is to worship God through song, prayer, thanksgiving and quiet times of reflection. Our worship team of musicians leads us through the first half of our meetings to focus on God and worship him.
It’s one of the things that’s so precious to do together. We can worship, pray, and listen to teaching at home, but worshipping with others is a special opportunity to be together, aware of God’s presence as Jesus promised, We get to express together just how much we appreciate God and encourage each other in the process. “It’s a way of reflecting heaven on Earth”, says Pete, one of our worship leaders,
We sing a mixture of worship songs , from the old hymns to the most contemporary, and we seek to make room for contributions as the church feels led by the Holy Spirit with oversight from the church pastors.
Joining With Us
Whether you’re looking for a new church, have recently become a Christian, or don’t know Jesus yet but want to know more, you are welcome to come and get to know us. We’re all on a journey in our spiritual lives, and we at Church Alive would love to help you take some steps.
We know the God who loves us and loves you. We have found that knowing Him gives our lives meaning and purpose, as well as connecting us to a family where we truly belong.
We’d love to share this with you.
Church Alive is a church that loves God and loves people. We are ordinary people- multi-generational and multi-cultural (15 nations at the time of writing), all grateful for God’s love and kindness and have a desire to share that love with the communities we find ourselves in and the wider world.
Many among us describe feeling welcomed and at home when first visiting and a sense of calling and a longing to stay. “They celebrate my good news as if it were theirs and genuinely care” said Florence.
There are so many stories from our church family of God’s involvement in our lives , from the joy of parties and celebrations to being there when life got hard. We want to be there for you and to join with you in the hard times and the good. We welcome visitors of all ages and backgrounds, children and families.
“I feel connected”. “It’s a family”.
“They look after their community”.
“It’s so welcoming and supportive”
“You don’t have to be perfect”.
