Prayer

PrayerWhat use is a God you can't talk to? Someone you can't communicate with? Not a lot. However, prayer is the means by which Christians share their hearts and thoughts with God. In prayer we tell God how it's going with us and guess what - he talks to us too!

Through prayer we develop a living relationship with Jesus, we learn to listen to his voice and recognise his influence upon our thinking and actions.

Though prayer we 'tap' into the power God has for us - not an electric light kind of power but a force that seeps into every part of our lives. Whereas radiation seeps into a body and kills it, through prayer God's love, influence and power seeps into our lives and changes us into a people who rely on him and look to him for the answers to the needs of the world today.

It's also a place where we can express our joy at knowing him, the freedom from facing a certain death with no way out - now that's something to celebrate isn't it?

Matt 21:22
'If you believe you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer'

James 5:16
'The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective'
